3. Independent Status & Professional Role

  • We operate as independent social work practitioners and are not part of any local authority or government body unless specifically contracted.

  • Our assessments and reports reflect professional judgement based on available information and evidence.

Important:

  • We do not guarantee outcomes, including court decisions or application approvals.

  • We do not provide legal or medical advice. Where required, you should seek advice from a qualified solicitor or healthcare professional.

4. Court Work and Assessments

Where services relate to court proceedings:

  • Our duty may be to the court, not solely to the instructing party

  • Reports will be independent, impartial, and evidence-based

  • We reserve the right to:

    • Form professional opinions that may not align with the client’s expectations

    • Disclose relevant information where required by the court

You agree:

  • To cooperate fully with the assessment process

  • To provide accurate and complete information

  • To respect professional boundaries and timelines

Failure to cooperate may result in:

  • Delays

  • Incomplete reports

  • Withdrawal from instruction

5. LPA and Deputyship Support Services

We provide guidance and practical assistance with:

  • Completing applications

  • Understanding processes

  • Supporting individuals and families

However:

  • We are not a law firm and do not provide legal representation

  • Final decisions are made by the Office of the Public Guardian or the Court of Protection

  • We are not responsible for outcomes, delays, or decisions made by external authorities

6. Client Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, honest, and complete information

  • Submit requested documents in a timely manner

  • Attend scheduled appointments or give adequate notice of cancellation

  • Engage respectfully and appropriately

Failure to meet these responsibilities may affect the quality and continuation of services.

7. Fees and Payment

  • Fees will be agreed in writing before work begins

  • Payment terms may include:

    • Upfront payment

    • Staged payments for ongoing work

Invoices must be paid within 7 days unless otherwise agreed.

We reserve the right to:

  • Suspend or terminate services for non-payment

  • Charge for work completed up to the point of termination

8. Cancellations and Refunds

  • A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for appointment cancellations

  • Late cancellations or missed appointments may be charged in full

Refunds:

  • Are not provided for completed work

  • May be considered at our discretion in exceptional circumstances

If services are terminated early:

  • You will be charged for all work completed to date

9. Confidentiality

We treat all client information as confidential in accordance with:

Exceptions:
